  • Dynamic Visual Acuity (DVA): Comparing visual clarity on an eye chart while the head is stationary versus while the head is being gently rotated, evaluating the functional efficiency of the Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex (VOR).
  • Positional Screening: Evaluating whether specific head position changes (such as lying back or turning the head) induce characteristic nystagmus or brief spinning, as seen in Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).
  • Postural Sway & Sensory Organization: Observing balance stability on firm and compliant surfaces with eyes open versus closed to evaluate how the body weights vestibular, visual, and proprioceptive cues.
  • Specialized Medical Diagnostic Testing: In specialized hospital or ENT clinical settings, comprehensive diagnostic testing may further include video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), videonystagmography (VNG), caloric irrigation, rotary chair testing, or Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP).
